How to Marry in a European Castle or Palace — Hohenzollern & Mirabell

One of Germany’s three great castles, and the hall called the most beautiful wedding room in the world. What a castle or palace wedding in Europe includes, with a sample schedule.

A real castle, a historic palace, the bride you dreamed of being as a child. European weddings are among the most requested experiences at BRIDEs SCENE.

Mirabell Palace — Salzburg, Austria

The Mirabell Gardens appear in “The Sound of Music”. In the Baroque palace beside them, the Marble Hall — where Mozart once performed — is your ceremony room.

The day can include hair & make-up by an English-speaking stylist, a Japanese-speaking assistant, limousine transfer, live piano and a white-horse carriage ride through the Old Town.

Sample schedule

  • 8:30 Getting ready at your hotel
  • 11:20 Limousine to the palace
  • 11:45 Blessing ceremony in the Marble Hall
  • 12:05 Photos in the Marble Hall, on the Angel Staircase and in the gardens
  • 12:30 Carriage ride through the Old Town back to your hotel

Hohenzollern Castle — Germany

Dating to the 11th century, this was the seat of the Hohenzollern dynasty — kings of Prussia and German emperors — and it ranks with Neuschwanstein and Heidelberg as one of Germany’s three great castles.

High on an 855 m summit, the castle chapel fills with organ music and stained-glass light. Limited to 20 couples a year, the plan includes two nights at the castle hotel Schloss Weitenburg, a champagne-and-cake reception, a dinner course and a guided photo tour of the state rooms.

Planning tips

  • Ceremonies are symbolic (not legally binding); register your marriage at home.
  • Season: Salzburg’s snowy winters are magical; spring to early summer brings the gardens into bloom.
  • Attire: bringing your own is free — ask us about keeping warm in winter.
  • Photos only? Our Europe photo weddings in Paris, Santorini and more start at ¥286,000.

We handle every arrangement with the venues and provide support in Japanese, English and Chinese.
